The Former Attorney General Of the Republic Of Ghana under the former president Kuffour regime Hon. Ayikoi Otoo has asked the journalist in Ghana to stop twisting people's words and do proper journalism
He said this when he was interviewed by Omanhene Kwabena Asante of Asempa Fm on their afternoon political programme'3k) sii s3n?'.
On that particular programme Omanhene asked the lawyer about reports going round that he Hon. Otoo has said to tv3 that those guys that went to Montie Fm and said things should be sentenced and jailed
According to the Hon he did not say that but he was asked a question by that tv3 journalist and he only spoke his mind that what they said was good for Ghana's democracy and he said that as a person because that is what he thinks. He claim to have said the apology letter from the Montie Fm company is hypocritical because even he has been accused of killing his personal assistant which was very untrue but they said all these things on the radio and the management did nothing to stop it. So why must they apologise now that is against supreme court judges? They sit on radio insult people everyday and nothing is said to them in this country so he thinks is hypocritical on the part of the management amd that was his view and he asked is that his crime for speaking his mind?
Omanhene asked him that as a lawyer of such a great standing in Ghana must he say that they should be sent to jail? The Hon went angry and asked omanhene that why must he a journalist ask him that question whiles he has just told him what he said and not sentence stuff? He the Hon Ayikoi Otoo did not go to people to be interviewed but is journalist that came to him and he spoke to them accordingly
For the records the Hon said is high time journalist of this country to stop twisting words of people and always finding trouble for people in this country Ghana. They should always be serious and look for serious issues than twisting issues to sell their stories and write of stories helping people
You guys did same to Justices Of Supreme court you journalist were after him to talk. As he spoke you guys twisted his words and made people talk ill of him as a chair of the supreme court.
Is his time we rise up and do things right in this country the Hon Ayikoi Otoo retriat
