As the presidential race kicks into full gear, celebrities are backing their favorite candidates, with many of them getting out on the campaign trail. By far, JM toaso and I am 4 Nana have the largest number of celebs who have come out in support of their presidential runs. But there are notable supporters on the ruling party side as well, including movie starsand music icons.
A Kumasi -based film producer Daniel Kwadwo Sarfo Tyson has waded into this endorsement saga by movie players in Kumasi.
According to him, those endorsing the candidature of the President John Dramani Mahama are not heavyweights in the industry.
The outspoken Producer Daniel Kwadwo Sarfo Tyson speaking on National Agenda on Ashh fm couple of days ago referred to Ghanaian celebrities who have thrown their support for the ruling NDC as persons who have little influence in the movie industry.
He said those who are members of the faithful for Mahama are not crowd-pullers in the movie industry.
He told Odeefour Kwasi Kay that, Celebrities who are engaging themselves in endorsing political partiesare risking their career.
He stated that those who invest their money in the film industry don't do politics, ‘’but those who are saying they are for JM are just hungry for food, they don’t invest in the film industry’’. He added
Sarfo Tyson who is the CEO of Peace and Love Filmsfurther clarified that it will not be prudent for them to involve themselves in active party politics.
