The Convention People's Party(CPP) has presented its audited account to the Electoral Commission (EC), beating a May 31st deadline set by the election supervisor.
Together with other leaders of the party, the Chairman of the CPP, Prof. Edmund Delle presented the accounts together with other documents in compliance with the Political Parties' Act.
The Election regulatory body in the past has been criticised for failing to implement the Political Parties Act to the letter. The EC said it intended to enforce the law ahead of the November 7 polls and charged the parties to comply with the law. It vowed to sanction parties who fail to meet the May 31st deadline.
In beating the deadline, Prof. Delle said Ghanaians would begin to see the CPP is no longer the small party people have been thinking about.
"We have the men to work night and day to carry out tasks that we are given within the shortest possible time," Prof. Delle told Myjoyonline.com.
The Chairman further urged Ghanaians not to compare the CPP to the smaller parties in the country as it is one of the oldest parties.
"It is a party which is vibrant and will pull surprises in the upcoming general elections," he added and insisted that they have massive support in various constituencies across the country.
